Cane liquor sweetens up Vancouver’s cocktail scene
Goodbye, mojito. Hello, caipirinha, cachaca and batida. In case you haven’t noticed, Vancouver’s cocktail scene is undergoing a bit of a Brazilian invasion at the moment.
We can expect that to get even crazier with the introduction this month of the Sagatiba brand of premium quality cachaca.
Also has a really nice pronunciation key
“Try pronouncing the cocktails, let alone the name itself,” Mete says with a laugh.
Here’s how: caipirinha is pronounced kai-pee-reen-ya (kai as in kayak); cachaca is pronounced ka-shaa-suh; and batida is pronounced ba-tee-duh.
