Business booms as Portsmouth restaurants vie for best cocktail - Fosters

Glasses were raised in the name of competition recently as seven local dining establishments competed for the title of Portsmouth’s best cocktail.

“It’s really a way to get recognition for all the different restaurants and bars in the area,” said Tina Santoro-Smith, Drinkwater marketing director . “It’s an opportunity for people to get out, get active, and have fun.”

Santos-Smith said nearly 250 people turned out for the event, and the restaurants surely felt it.

“All of the venues have said they were overwhelmed with the crowds,” she said. “They got slammed, as they put it.”

And in restaurant speak, that’s a good thing.
